MCU Phase 4 characters: Old and new!

Reportedly, some new and old characters will be cast inMCU phase 4 . Some characters will be seen from phase 1, and some characters will be a new entry. The MCU will receive a bit of a facelift in Phase 4 since the Infinity Saga is over. The days of Captain America and Iron Man leading the cinematic universe are gone. Their absence led to the entry of many new characters, and they have become prominent players.

Marvel Studios announced the entire Phase 4 slate over the past few years. This will consist of all films and Disney+ shows. Many of the new releases will see similar faces returning leading solo movies. MCU can lose some of its most notable characters but still has lots of characters. Every time it keeps on adding new characters. This will continue in phase 4 as well.

The characters in MCU Phase 4 who have appeared before –

Natasha Romanoff – was the 1st phase 1 character to appear in phase 4, but she will be the 1st member of the original Avenger’s team to focus on the franchise’s new chapter. Scarlett Johansson played this is a fictional character and is based on the Marvel Comic character of the same name. She is an expert hand-to-hand combatant and is a spy who is trained in the Red Room from childhood. Natasha joins S.H.I.E.L.D. (the counter-terrorism agency) and becomes an important member. In Iron Man 2 (2010), she was introduced to MCU, and she then appeared in 9 films. The character made her final live-action appearance in Black Window.

Thor -In all 4 phases of MCU, this character had a solo film. Chris Hemsworth portrays the fictional characters in MCU and is based on the Marvel Comic characters of the same name. Thor is one of the most powerful of the Asgardians who humans consider to be God. Asgardians are an ancient alien civilization and have long ties with Earth. He is the central member of Avengers, joins the Guardian of Galaxy, and has appeared in eight series films. Now Thor will be seen in Thor: Love and Thunder and What If…?.

Loki – Tom Hiddleston portrays the character in the MCU based on the Norse mythological God of the same name and the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Loki is a crucial recurring figure of the MCU. He has appeared in three of the four Avengers films and all three of the Thor films and in the T.V. series Loki. The character will be seen in What If….?, The Good, the Bart, and the Loki, and a short film, The Simpsons. 

Abomination – This is a fictional character appearing in a comic book published by Marvel comics and featured in other Marvel-endorsed products such as animated T.V. series, video games, merchandise. The character is played by Tim Roth and made the debut in MCU in the film The Incredible Hulk (2008). Now the character will be seen in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) and Disney+ TV series She-Hulk (2022).

Thaddeus Ross – Black Window features another phase 1 character called Thaddeus Ross. This is a fictional character who appears in Marvel Comics. He is a U.S. Military officer and the head of the gamma bomb project. The character has been transformed into many products like statues and toys. He also appeared in various media adaptations like live-action feature films, video games, animated T.V. series. William Hurt portrayed the character in MCU for Black Window (2012), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Avengers: Infinity wars (2018), Captain America: Civil war (2016), The Incredible Hulk (2008).

Jane Foster – This is a fictional superhero appearing Marvel Comic. As a love interest of the superhero Thor Edison, the character was introduced, and later she became a superhero in her own right and 1st appeared in Journey into Mystery (1962). The character is played by Natalie Portman in MCU, who appeared in phase 1 Thor for the 1st time. Jane Foster was shown as an astrophysicist who subsequently became the God of Thunder’s love interest. Jane was again seen in Thor: The Dark World and then featured n Endgame. Now will be seen in Love and Thunder.

Hawkeye – This is a fictional character appearing in a comic book published by Marvel comics and seemed to be 1st as a villain in Tales of Suspense (1964) and later joined The Avengers (1965). Ever since he has been a prominent member of the MCU, the character is portrayed by Jeremy Renner. He was 1st seen in Thor (2011) and then seen in The Avengers (2012), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). The character will be seen in Hawkeye (2021).

The new entries in MCU Phase 4 characters –

Red Guardian – This is the name of many fictional superheroes appearing in Marvel comics. As the Soviet equivalent of Captain America, the identity of the Red Guardian was created. After the fall of the Soviet Union, it has been continuously used. Red Guardian incarnation by the Aleksei Shostakovhas made scattered appearances in video games and animated media. David Harbour portrayed the character in Black Window (2021).

Dane Whitman – This is a fictional character appearing in a comic book published by Marvel comics. The 3rd character to bear the Black Night name and 1st appeared in The Avengers (1967). He inherited a mystical sword that had a curse. They took the Black Knight name in order to restore honor and have been a long-term member of the Avengers. in 1990, the character was featured in a four-issue mini-series. Dane Whitman will make his live-action debut in the upcoming MCU film Eternals (2021). Kit Harington will play the character.

Blade – This is a fictional character appearing in Marvel comics. He 1st appeared as a supporting character in the comic book The Tomb of Dracula (1973) but later starred in his own storylines. He has spent his life ridding the world of all vampires, and becoming the perfect vampire hunter has utilized his unique physiology. The character has been adapted to various forms of media like T.V. series, films, and video games. Portrayed by Wesley Snipes in the movie Blade, Blade II, Blade: Trinity and Sticky Fingaz played in the T.V. series Blade. Mahershala Ali will play the character in the upcoming Blade Film set in the MCU.

Forgotten One – This is a fictional character appearing in a comic book published by Marvel comics. He 1st appeared in The Eternals (1977) and is a member of the Avengers and Eternal (a near-immortal hidden race). Son Lee will play the character in Eternal (2021) in MCU.

Ikaris – This is a fictional character appearing in Marvel comics. He 1st appeared in The Eternals (1976) and is a member of a race known as the Eternals. In the MCU, the character will be played by Richard Madden in Eternal (2021).

She-Hulk – This is a fictional character appearing in Marvel comics. She 1st appeared in The Savage She-Hulk (1980). She-Hulk is a lawyer and from her cousin receives an emergency blood transfusion because she meets with an injury and then acquires a milder version of his Hulk condition. She has been a member of the Fantastic Four, the Defenders, Fantastic Force, S.H.I.E.L.D., Avengers, Heroes for Hire. In MCU, she will be seen in Disney+ Series She-Hulk (2022). 



The Details of the upcoming DC TV Shows!

Many series are line-up for DC TV, and most of them are scheduled for HBO Max release. The shows are based on DC Comics, an American comic book publisher and the flagship unit of DC Entertainment.  Due to this current pandemic, there is great scope for expansion on streaming services and studio executives’ interest in building film franchises on the small screen. The focus now has been more on developing more DC TV shows. Reportedly some of them are already in the production process and will be released in 2021 or 2022, while others have yet to begin production.

The upcoming DC TV Shows


This is an upcoming American TV Series created by James Gunn for the streaming service HBO Max. The TV Series is based on the DC Comics character peacemaker and is a spin-off of The Suicide Squad (2021 film). It is the 1st TV Series in DCEU. After the events of the film, it is set but also explores the origins of Peacemaker. Peacemaker is a self-styled superhero and to maintain world peace, willing to use any means. The series is produced by The Safran Company and Troll Court Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. TV.

In the title character, John Cena will be seen, and he will reprise his role from The Suicide Squad. The other main stars include Chukwudi Iwuji, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Robert Patrick, Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee. James writes all eight episodes of the series. From January to July 2021, the shooting happened in Vancouver, Canada and James directed 5 of the episodes. The TV Series is set to release in January 2022.

Strange Adventures

This series will be debuting on HBO Max and will be produced by Greg Berlanti, an hour-long anthology series that will explore the lives of average citizens and superheroes. Each episode in the series will tell a different cautionary tale and introduce many characters across the DC canon. The early stories revolve around post-apocalyptic knights, giant hands, gorilla scientists, robot overlords, space adventurers, alien invaders, and other wild concepts.

The main character will be Adam Strange, an interstellar-traveling superhero. He was also seen playing the lead role in the DC Comic of the same name. The series will be a pulpy sci-fi series in the vein of DC’s original comic run, which will make it different from the crowd.

Justice League Dark

The popular comic book series Justice League Dark is being taken by J.J. Abrams as a new producing project. This series will be a live-action Justice League Dark TV series produced under Abrams Bad Robot production label for HBO Max. His production house had signed a deal with WarnerMedia in 2019 in which TV shows, films, video games, and other types of content for the next five years. It will be a part of a larger JLD universe, spanning film and TV. WarnerMedia hasn’t announced any details about the series. The plot and the characters are kept under wraps. The announcement of the release date is still awaited.

Naomi –

As per sources, the CW has ordered a new show called Naomi to series in May 2021 based on the recently introduced character Naomi McDuffie aka Powerhouse. The atmosphere of Naomi’s Earth degraded, and then some sought radioactive energy to break, affecting 29 people. These 29 people got a superpower. Most of them died, but eight metahumans remained, and out of the eight, two had a daughter called Naomi. The series would premier sometime in 2022. Plot and casting details are still awaited. 

DC Superhero High –

Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks are developing a live-action version of DC Superhero High for HBO Max. The series will be a comedy series that will run for half an hour. It will be a teen show which focuses on the “fun and drama of adolescence at a boarding school for gifted kids.” No one has been cast for the show, and no details have been shared regarding the plot, cast, and release date. 

Green Lantern –

In 2019, it was announced that HBO Max is developing Green Lantern TV Series, and in 2020, the show scored a 10-episode, straight-to-series order. As per updates, Seth Grahame-Smith will serve as showrunner and co-writing with Marc Guggenheim. HBO Max also revealed that the series main lineup characters include human Lanterns, Alan Scott, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, Guy Gardner, and alien Lanterns Sinestro and Kilowog.

Not many details are available regarding the plot and villains of the series. The date of release has also not been disclosed. But this series is one of the DC TV shows currently in the works for HBO Max that may not be a part of the ongoing DCEU.

Gotham PD –

The untitled Gotham PD shows will be set in the same universe as The Batman Film by Matt Reeve. The film the set to arrive on 4 March 2022 and stars Richard Pattinson as the caped crusader. Joey Barton will be the showrunner for the series, focusing on the Gotham City police department and Jim Gordon. As per reports, there is no confirmed release date for the series, but it’s been in the development process since last year. Not many details are available regarding the plot of the series.

In July 2020, it was reported that Matt Reeves and Terrence Winter were collaborating to develop a TV series that linked into the new Batman movie Reeves is currently directing. The idea is to develop expanding the DC universe across multiple platforms. The setting will be Gotham’s police department, which is riddled with corruption.


HBO Max announced in February that a reboot series of DC Comics Hellblazer’s Constantine, developed under J.J. Abrams, is coming up. This will be a part of the Justice League Dark project and a live-action series from Bad Robot. An iconic character who has been around for decades and has seen lots of adaptions. As per reports, under the titular role, a BIPOC actor will be cast. In the Arrowvers, Matt Ryan currently plays John Constantine. The details regarding the date of release, plot, and the cast are kept under wraps.

Madame X

J.J Adams is adding another DC Comics-inspired TV series to his name. He is teaming up with Angela Robinson for HBO Max for this scripted drama series to adapt DC’s Madame X . As per the sources, the project is in the early stage of development and will be executively be produced and written by Angela. In 1978 Madame X  was 1st seen in the DC Comics universe and was part of the Justice League Dark universe. She has precognitive abilities and is an immortal being. She was never the main character in her stories, but she often got involved in her patrons’ adventures. The details regarding the date of release, plot, and the cast are kept under wraps.

Val-Zod –

Michael B. Jordan and his production company Outlier Society develop their own Black Superman project for HBO Max. The series will mainly focus on the Val-Zod incarnation of the character. As per sources, the series is in the stage of development, and the scriptwriter is working on the script. Val-Zod is a Kryptonian like Kal-El, and he fled to Earth upon their home planet’s destruction. The details regarding the date of release, plot, and the cast are kept under wraps.

Cauliflower is one of the veggies in the genus Brassica in the species Brassica Oieracea, in the Brassicaceae family. It is an annual plant produced by seeds. Only the head of the plant is eaten. The head is composed of inflorescence meristem. In the Middle ages, early form, it was associated with the island of Cyprus. The association continued in Western Europe, and it was extensive use as trade over there. In the 16th century, they were introduced to France, and in India, it came in 18922.

It comes in four colors like White, Green, Orange, and Purple. The white one is the most common. The orange one contains Beta-Carotene. The green one is sometimes called Broccoflower and available commercially in Europe and the US since the early 1990s. It contains an antioxidant called indole-3-carbinol which reduces the risks of developing reproductive cancers in both women and men. Another component found is sulforaphane which also reduces the risks of certain cancers.

The breakdown of the glucosinolate glucobrassicin produces Idole-3-carbinol. This can be found at a high level in cruciferous veggies like kale, collard green, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, and broccoli. It is also available in the form of dietary supplements. Consumption of it might influence cancer incidence because it can alter estrogen metabolism and other cellular effects. In researches done on animals, it has been found that a daily dose of indole-3-carbinol reduces the risk of tumors.

Sulforaphane is a compound within the isothiocyanate group of organosulfur compounds. Its also found in cruciferous veggies. It helps in reducing cancer development by preventing enzymes that help in tumor and cancer growth. It also destroys cells that are already damaged. Sulforaphane is very effective in preventing prostate and colon cancer.

One may have reduced effects of blood-thinning medications –

Blood thinners are medicines that prevent blood clots and keep checks on existing blood clots not to become large. Clots in the heart, veins, and arteries can cause blockage, strokes, and heart attacks. People have blood thinners when they are affected with certain blood vessels or heart disease or an abnormal heart rhythm or heart valve replacement, or risks of blood clots after surgery.

As per a new study, drinking up to 7.5 alcoholic drinks per week may lower the risk of recurring angina, stroke, heart attack, and death in those with CVD who already drink than those who do not. In the U.S., the standard alcoholic drink contains 14 grams of alcohol. Since different percentages of alcohol are contained in different potables, a single drink in the U.S. could be:

  • 1.5 oz of distilled spirits, contains about 80% alcohol
  • 12 oz of beer contains roughly 5% alcohol
  • 5 oz of wine, about 12% alcohol

Chengyi Ding, the corresponding author, says, “Our findings suggest that people with CVD may not need to stop drinking to prevent additional heart attacks, strokes, or angina, but that they may wish to consider lowering their weekly alcohol intake.”

The came in BMC Medicine, a journal part of Springer Nature. The study does not recommend that people with CVD who are non-drinkers start drinking. The authors of the study in the U.K. analyzed health records for 48,423 adults with CVD. The Scottish Health Survey, Health Survey for England, The U.K. Biobank provided the data. The data from individuals were used in the study who had self-reported and documented their alcohol consumption for 14 years from 1994–2008. The researchers for the study matched their histories with death-registry records, health, hospital admissions.

Interventional cardiologist Hoang Nguyen said in the study among its alcohol users heavy drinkers were not analyzed or those who have stopped drinking due to health issues, “making the current drinkers more healthy compared to non-drinkers.” The authors also excepted this limitation. He also cautioned that “with any analysis, you have to worry about the quality of the sub-studies in the analysis.” Only nine of 14 studies included in the analysis could find the medicines the participants were taking.

 According to Dr. Hoang, regardless of potential benefits, inebriation remains a concern. “Most of my patients are elderly patients, and a little bit of alcohol can cause them to fall, and if they’re on blood thinners, that may cause severe bleeding issues.”



A new 3D map revealed details about the outer heliosphere!

Earth is the sixth planet from the solar system’s edge. A 3D map of the solar system’s edge is one of the latest development that took 13 years to create. It revealed a few more details about the outer heliosphere.

According to Dan Reisenfeld, a space science researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico and head of the team that researched the 3D map, the outer heliosphere is the region of space where the stream of charged particles emitted from the sun or the solar wind by the interstellar radiation is “deflected and draped back” that spread throughout the empty space beyond the solar system. Interstellar particles and solar wind meet and form a boundary at the far reaches of the solar system.

According to NASA earthlings, in 2012 1st got a glimpse of the solar system’s outer edge when Voyager I, a NASA spacecraft, crossed into interstellar space. The spacecraft was launched in 1977. In 2018, Voyager 2 was not far behind, repeating the feat. Both Voyagers 1 and 2 reported a substantial increase in galactic radiation and a sudden dropoff in solar particles when they left the solar system, according to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory at California Institute of Technology.

The inner layer where the sun and its planets lie is roughly spherical and in all directions is thought to extend roughly 90 astronomical units. The outer layer is much less symmetrical. Lack of symmetry is because of the sun’s movement through the Milky Way, with the galactic radiation in front of it experiences friction and clears out space in its wake.

According to Reisenfeld, “There’s a lot of plasma [charged particles] in the interstellar medium, and… the inner heliosphere, which is pretty round, is an obstacle in this stream of plasma which is flowing past it. It has the same effect as water going around a rock in a stream, with a rush of water crashing into the rock in front and a sheltered calm behind it.”

According to NASA, using the Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX), measurements for the 3D map were gathered, is “the size of a bus tire” and which was launched in 2008. Solar wind particles are detected by IBEX that have bounced back from the edges of the solar system, which helped to find the distances involved by measuring how long their round trip took for Reisenfeld and his colleagues. “The sun will send out a pulse … and then we passively wait for a return signal from the outer heliosphere, and we use that time delay to determine where the outer heliosphere must be,” Reisenfeld explained.

Reisenfeld said there is a correlation between the number of spots on the sun and solar wind strength. Due to intense magnetic disturbances within a sunspot temporarily appears on the surface of the sun, which is the relatively dark patch. NASA plans to launch a new mission to learn more about the heliosphere, called the Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration, in 2025.
