The newly-docked Russian Nauka module fired its thrusters on ISS on Thursday!

According to NASA flight controllers, an unusual and potentially dangerous situation happened at the ISS as the newly-docked Russian Nauka module, without any intention, fired its thrusters, causing a “tug of war” with the ISS and briefly pushing it out of position.

A long-delayed laboratory module Nauka that Russian space agency Roscosmos’ launched onto the ISS last week without intention fired its thrusters after docking with the ISS on Thursday. It was declared a spacecraft emergency by NASA because the space station experienced a loss of attitude control for nearly one hour. The ground controllers lost communications with the seven astronauts current onboard on ISS for 11 minutes during the ordeal. A joint investigation between Roscosmos and NASA is now ongoing.

NASA’s ISS Program Joel Montalbano says the astronauts were never in danger, and they have noticed no damage to the ISS. At one point, NASA’s Mission Control in Houston, Texas, asked them to look outside the space station’s windows to see if they could find any damage or debris to the station.

Due to this incident, the launch of the Boeing Starliner uncrewed test flight to the station was delayed on Friday, which had been set to launch. NASA says the move allows the “International Space Station team time to continue working checkouts of the newly arrived Roscosmos’ Nauka module and to ensure the station will be ready for Starliner’s arrival.”

NASA officials were quick to downplay the severity of the incident, describing it as a “pretty exciting hour” and a “dynamic event.” “Until you exhaust all your contingency plans, that’s when you start to worry, and today we just weren’t there,” said Montalbano.

Montalbano said that accidental firings of thrusters had taken place maybe three or four times during the 20 years that the ISS has been in orbit. The former deputy administrator of NASA, Lori Garver, once said the incident is a reminder that their lack of insights into Russian partners capabilities is an uncontrolled risk.

Simple animal life may have existed in Earth’s oceans 890 million years ago!

According to a new search, simple animal life may have existed in Earth’s oceans 890 million years ago. Belonging to ancient sponges, recently discovered fossils might be the earliest known remnants of an animal body and 350 million years pre-date other sponge fossils. Elizabeth Turner, paleontology and sedimentary geology professor at Laurentian University in Ontario, found what she thinks are possibly millions of years ago the fossilized structures of sponges that once existed in reefs. In northwestern Canada, in the rock samples, they were found. In the Journal Nature published on Wednesday a study on Turner’s findings.

Animal life’s emergence on Earth earliest days, little is known about that because the fossil record is sparse. While scientist has used genetic evidence to suggest that sponges 1st appear during the early Neoproterozoic era between 541 million and 1,000 million years ago. A lack of fossilized sponges creates the knowledge gap. Turner’s discovery could fill that gap and provide a glimpse into the earliest marine animal life on Earth.

According to Turner, “I serendipitously came across a few very rare examples of the material during my unrelated Ph.D. research, long ago, on fossil microbial reefs. “When I became a professor and had my own grants, I was able to return to the field sites and collect more material so that I had a more robust collection to work from.”

The thing she found in the ancient rock samples was fossilized structures that resembled skeletons like those within horny sponges, the kind used for a bath sponge. Horny sponges, also known as modern keratose demosponges, have a skeleton with three-dimensional branching made of a tough organic substance called spongin. Mineral calcite crystals covered the tube-shaped structures of the branched networks. Structures found in calcium carbonate rocks appeared similar and were likely created when horny sponge bodies decayed.

“This organic skeleton is very characteristic, and there are not known comparable structures,” said Joachim Reitner, a professor in the University of Goettingen’s department of geobiology who reviewed Turner’s study ahead of publication.

The number of days it takes to adapt to daylight saving time is based on genes!

If one lives in a country where daylight saving time (DST) is observed, one will be familiar with the biannual shift that body clocks must undergo. Coping with the change is harder for some. According to a new study, the number of days it takes to adapt could be down to one genetic.

Researchers found in a study of around 830 people that people who went to bed early weren’t as badly affected by DST compared to people who slept late. How one understands the workings of circadian rhythm, the findings could have important implications. Circadian rhythm is a natural process that tells when it is time to go to sleep and when to get up again, and this process is important for health.

According to Srijan Sen neuroscientists from the University of Michigan, “This study is a demonstration of how much we vary in our response to even relatively minor challenges to our daily routines, like DST. Discovering the mechanisms underlying this variation can help us understand our individual strengths and vulnerabilities better.”

At a medical school from a sample of 831 interns, genetic DNA profiling and a measure called the Objective Sleep Midpoint polygenic score were used by the researchers to sift out the main study candidates: the 134 individuals most genetically predisposed to be late sleepers and the 133 individuals most genetically predisposed to be early sleepers.

The team used wearables during the DST change in spring in the US to track the response of these interns. On weekdays all the volunteers continued to get up at similar times; there was a significant lack of compatibility when they went to bed, and on weekends going to bed and getting up time.

People who slept early had adjusted to the new timings by Tuesday after the DST shift on Sunday morning. People who slept late were still struggling to come to terms with the change in time by the following Saturday. DST does more harm than good for the researchers; it is more evident.

The researcher team also looked at the DST shift back an hour, which happens in the fall in the US. There are no significant differences in how people who slept early and people who slept early suggested that the bodies find it easier to cope with that particular change.

The Last of Us new set of images released!

The new set of images of The Last of Us give a close-up look at the production of the series, likely concerning the first episode. It is the 1st TV series from Sony’s studio PlayStation Productions and is based on Naughty Dog’s award-winning video game series of the same name. Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog’s co-president, is executive producing and co-writing the series with Craig Mazin. The 1st season consists of ten episodes and is made on an eight-figure budget. The series is expected to enhance and adapt the events of the 1st game and may lead into plot details from The Last of Us Part II.

The series takes place in a post-apocalyptic world severely damaged by infected and follows the jaded smuggler, Joel, responsible for escorting a teenage girl, Ellie, across the country. Previously, Game of Thrones alums Bell Ramsey and Pedro Pascal would be playing the characters. Joining them is Sarah, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Nico Parker as Joel’s daughter, and Merle Dandridge playing the same role from the games as Marlene (the leader of a revolutionary militia, the Fireflies). Production for the series has started in Canada, Alberta, Calgary, and photos from the sets and casts can be seen online.

Photos of The Last of Us have surfaced online, shared on a Twitter account of a fan who visited the set. The videos and photos do not feature any actor. This appears to be the backdrop for an earlier episode; a street in Alberta is transformed into Austin, Texas, where the 1st The Last of Us game begins.

Joel is introduced as a single father in the series prologue living in Austin, Texas. The series opening has players experience escaping the initial outbreak with Joel, Tommy, Sarah (Joel’s daughter). The game cuts to Joel in a Boston quarantine zone twenty years later after the prologue.

Of the films and TV shows in the prologue, the series is one of the most expensive productions currently filming there. The shooting will not wrap up before June 2022, and there is no official announcement on the release date.

The Flash season 7 ending wrapped up the Arrowverse show’s latest storyline!

The Flash season 7 ending wrapped up the Arrowverse show’s latest storyline while setting up the future season. The season 7 ending resolved the Godspeed Civil War story, bringing back several familiar faces in the process. To the season’s main storylines, the episode provided a satisfying end and provided a shocking twist. Now the audience is wondering what store for season 8.

Season 7 was the shortest one, with only 18 episodes due to production delays due to pandemics. Still, the show writers were able to show lots of things in this season. For 1st half of the season, after finishing the Mirror Mistress arc, the Arrowverse had its take on the New Forces from the DC Universe. In the 2nd half, Iris and Barry decided to start a family so that Godspeed returns, allowing his story to be resolved.

A speedster was featured as the main villain previously in The Flash. For one main reason, the Godspeed war stood out: several speedsters like XS, Impluse, Jay Garrick were recruited by Barry to help fight the Godspeed army. The arc became the biggest Flash Family storyline of the series because of the enormous threat that Godspeed became. Barry and Iris got married after Godspeed was defeated. But one major plot thread was left unsolved at the end.

Following the dramatic and exciting ending in the 150th episode, the season 7 finale expanded upon August heart’s true motives as he wanted to possess organic speed. If Barry gave August what he demanded, only Godspeed clones could stop terrorizing Central City. Barry gave what August wanted after the Flash Family tried to stop the clones, but Godspeed went back on his promise in true villain fashion. August had organic speed in his system; Iris and Barry put plan B into motion using the Negative Speed Force to stop the psychotic speedster.

While Godspeed and Berry hit it out, the Reverse-Flash reemerged. Reverse-Flash and The Flash had to put aside their differences to fight Godspeed together as a team. A lightsaber-like weapon made from Speed Force energy was created by Godspeed and eventually stabbed Godspeed. But Godspeed survived and was locked up at Iron Heights, and that brought the Civil War to an end. Season 7 was pretty ambiguous about what was next for Impluse and XS.

Marvel Cinematic Universe will be seen in much better way in phase 4!

For phase 4, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become much better. MCU was launched in 2008 by Marvel Studios. Nobody had ever attempted to build a shared universe like this before. There was also risk associated that any misstep would have affected the whole project. The Avengers (2012) was the moment of greatest danger, and if the film had failed, the MCU would have collapsed.

The Avengers in the global box office broke $1.5 million, and the studio became the hottest property in Hollywood. For 2008’s Iron Man, Marvel struggled with writers on board, but nowadays, they have the best ones. The MCU has proved even Z-list superheroes can make their presence felt in popular culture. They made the audience fall in love with a walking tree and a talking raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy. For Phase4, MCU is even becoming better.

The MCU has changed both narrative and form so much so that MCU will never be retired by Marvel. Now it has become a powerful brand. MCU is now a transmedia initiative. The MCU’s ongoing narrative is now told both in Disney+ TV shows and films. For example, Loki sets the Multiversal arc. Loki is expected to dominate Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania, Doctor Strange in the Multiuniverse of Madness, Spider-Man: No Way Home. This is true transmedia, true connectivity.

MCU has transformed so much, and Marvel is no longer dealing with one shared universe but an entire Multiverse. The storytelling opportunities created by the Multiverse were made clear in Loki. It featured a female version of the trickster god and an alligator who fans call Croki. What If…? is an upcoming animated series, and the multi-universe is explored with riffs on the traditional MCU stories. All these indicate that the MCU has evolved completely. No longer can it be called a shared cinematic universe, but now it is a shared transmedia Multiverse.

The MCU is an American shared universe and media franchise that revolves around superhero films produced by Marvel Studios. The films are based on characters that can be seen in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

Marvel TV shows that are yet to release in 2021!

For several franchises, Disney+ has become an unavoidable corner, with short films and TV shows that tie directly into bigger universes. It started in 2019 with The Mandalorian, and it’s continued with Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Wanda Vision, and Loki in 2021. Some of the series was supposed to release last year, but due to Covid got delayed.

Marvel plans to interweave TV Shows and MCU films together. Open concepts are introduced in TV that are expanded on in cinema. With Marvel TV shows, the studio can risks that otherwise are either not easy to do or won’t have been possible. Bringing back certain MCU characters is interesting, and that has been the case with 1st three series. In the Marvel Studios’ TV initiative, new characters will join the fold in the next two to three years.

Marvel TV shows that are yet to release in 2021 –

What If…? – Begins the studio’s foray into the multiverse. It will release on August 11, and actors from all across MCU will be brought back, and many of whom reprise their roles but with certain twists. For example, Michael B. Jordan is the King of Wakanda, and Hayley Atwell is now Captain Carter. It is an animated series, and Marvel Studios can revisit the critical moments in the franchise with new characters. The series is believed to be a standalone series without any repercussions for the overarching franchise.

Ms. Marvel – A series that brings the teenage superhero Kamala Khan into the MCU. Marvel wanted to explore adapting the series on the big screen. But that ultimately turned into a TV project. Iman Vellani will be again seen as Kamala. In some ways, her story might be faithfully adapted, but there will be a handful of changes for sure. The release date has not been announced yet but is planned for 2021.

Hawkeye – It is the 1st solo project for Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton. Jeremy has appeared in every Avenger film and the MCU having a handful of standalone projects. The series follows the footsteps of Black Window and introduces a new version of an Avenger. Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), played by Hailee Steinfeld. Throughout the show, she will appear and seemingly be trained under Hawkeye. The date of release date has not been announced yet but is planned for 2021.

MCU president reveals how the Spider-Man deal was saved!

MCU president Kevin Feige reveals what went down behind the scenes from their brief split with Sony over the companies’ Spider-Man collaboration. The partnership between the studios in 2015 allowed the MCU to feature Peter Parker after years of being isolated in his own franchise. The character played by Tom Holland has now appeared in five films. Two of them are his standalone adventures, and another two are Avengers blockbusters.

MCU didn’t waste time after the deal was finalized, incorporating Peter into the franchise, introducing him in Captain America: Civil War. In this way, they could develop his relationship with other heroes, particularly Iron Man. He has been the character mentor until his death in Avenger: Endgame. Not all audiences are happy with how the Spider-Man is handled in the universe. Critics have cited that how Peter has been reduced to a mentor in MCU when he can be a hero capable of standing on his own feet in the comics. The audience was even more upset that Spider-Man for a temporary will not be available in MCU.

Kevin revealed that people from both Sony and Marvel Studios were also emotionally impacted by the split. He also said that he was grateful that Spider-Man was there in MCU at one point in time. He could not get into specifics; he shared a new video on Rotten Tomatoes that, in the end, they decided to move ahead with the deal and not let politics complicate.

Holland had already shared that his experience was extremely tiring and demanding. What made it worse is that during D23 2019 it talked about the town where MCU was announcing its phase 4 slate, and he was there to promote the film Onward (animated), which he co-starred with Chris Pratt.

According to former Disney CEO Bob Iger, the young actor played a part in brokering a new deal between Sony and Marvel Studios, which has kept Spider-Man in the MCU, which is why Spider-Man: No Way Home is happening.

Black Adam director used cutting-edge camera tech for the film!

Black Adam director Jaume Collet-Serra used cutting-edge camera tech for the DCEU film, reveals star Dwayne Johnson. The film has been in the works for years, but it has suffered a few setbacks on the way to the big screen. It was supposed to begin production last year, but Covid pushed it back. This past spring, the film kicked off filming and recently entered its final week of work. It is supposed to release in July 2022.

The titular villain-turned-anti-hero for the film will be played by Johnson, which is expected to touch upon his origin story. Plot details are still now not revealed by the makers of the film. Still, Black Adam will certainly feature members of Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosman), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), and Justice Society of America: Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo). Additional stars include Marwan Kenzari and Sarah Shahi. The film will start a new franchise for the DCEU, and throughout its production, Johnson has shared several intriguing behind-the-scenes tidbits.

In Johnson’s latest BTS peek, a shot of him can be seen in shirtless and striking a powerful pose. Behind Johnson, a camera will create impressive imagery for the film. “This advanced robot arm called a BOLT is the fastest in the world with a high-speed PHANTOM camera that shoots me at an insane 960 frames per second (normally movies are shot at 24 frames per second),” Johnson wrote. He also shared that bringing the character to life “with cutting edge technology” is a true privilege.

For Black Adam’s visual style, Collet-Serra must have grand plans. In the DCEU, the cinematography has the potential to be among the best. No official shot from the film has been revealed, but last summer, the concept art trailer released at DC FanDome hinted at a beautiful aesthetic. To depict him onscreen, Collet-Serra has devised new, cutting edgeways. It will be quite interesting to see how these techniques come to life in the film.

Black Window credit scene lays the groundwork for the upcoming Hawyeke show!

With post-credit scenes, Marvel Studios is practically synonymous, so even the Black Window MCU 1st film in almost two years continues that tradition. Going back to 2008’s Iron Man, the post- and mid-credit tags have been used to set the has been to set the table for the next film in the Marvel Machine. But something different is done by Black Window, using its post-credit tag to tease an upcoming Disney Plus show, not a future film.

The rest of Black Window is set as a prequel of sorts, between Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: Civil War, but in this, the post-credit scene jumps to after Avengers: Endgame. Yelena can be seen visiting Natasha’s gravesite and pays respect to her sister. She then gets revenge on the man who killed Natasha, recruited by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

The upcoming Hawyeke show Black Window credit scene lays the groundwork set to debut on Disney Plus later this year. This will see Pugh playing the same old role Yelena and presumably, face down Clint over Natasha’s death when she does show up.

The scene also reveals the current Marvel strategy. Val was 1st seen in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney Plus. She was the last scene to her service recruiting the disgraced Captain America knock-off U.S. Agent. For years, post-credit scenes have been used as integral advertisements for future films in the franchise. The main characters like Thanos and Nick Fury first made their appearances in the credit tags. They are integral to the Marvel experience that it was notable when the studio skipped one following Endgame. The studio uses the space to make sure that the audience is tuned into Hawkeye when it debuts later this year.

The Black Widow credits tag is a huge vote of confidence in Disney Plus shows as an important part of Marvel’s future. It also speaks to how important getting and keeping Disney Plus subscribers is to Disney and how integral Marvel’s content machine is to build out the streaming service.
